The
Scene: Early Morning along the Nile River.
The Time: Around 500 B.C.
An
Egyptian beekeeper was harvesting the bounty that only bees can produce.
If he was fortunate, the beekeeper's collection would go to the Pharoah,
himself. The honey and it's components, it was believed, would deliver to
the "God-King" long life and well being.
Such is the history of honey. For thousands of years honey, bee pollen,
propolis, and the famous royal jelly have been used for everything from
treatments for burns to cancer. Described as "nature's perfect
food" because of its completely balanced nutrient content, Bee Pollen
is used to increase energy levels, fight allergies and is a great source
of amino acids, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.
Propolis
is a resinous substance collected from various plants by bees and is used
to line the hive - creating one of the most sterile environments in the
animal kingdom. Like most bee products, it has strong antibiotic
properties and stimulates the immune system.
Royal
Jelly is a milky glandular secretion of the worker bees for the sole
provision of nutrition to the Queen Bee. A powerhouse of vitamins,
minerals, enzymes & amino acids, Royal Jelly contains an important
infection-fighting and immune stimulation factor. Royal Jelly is a highly
complex, protein-based food recognized as a natural source of Pantothenic
Acid (B5) and an array of other B-vitamins along with the minerals
Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc and Manganese.
Other
references show that it stimulates the adrenal glands and metabolism,
giving more energy & rapid recovery from fatigue. Globulinic acid
(gamma globulin) is a substance researchers found in Royal Jelly that
increases resistance to bacteria and viruses. Royal Jelly contains a
gelatinous amino acid, a basic ingredient in collagen - a protein
important for connective tissue as well as healthy, youthful, firm skin.
Further
reference sources note that Royal Jelly stimulates enhanced sexual
capabilities
